Film and theology is an outreach class designed to equip and challenge us to engage media & culture for the Glory of God. At Westside we believe that ultimate reality is found in the scriptures and therefore we watch movies with that lens, looking at what needs to be received, rejected and redeemed. Our hope is that you walk away from this class better equipped on how to use movies to engage the people in your life with the Gospel.
Watching Like Jesus
We watch the movies we watch at Westside in their entirety because in them are the realities of the culture we live in, and like Jesus, our hope is to engage it with the Gospel. Therefore the movies chosen may have content that may not be appropriate depending on your conscience. Please prayerfully consider the content and motive of your heart before attending.
What to Expect
All of our movies are shown on a big screen!!! After watching the movie together we’ll spend about an hour unpacking the content of the film and its theological implications on culture and our lives.
