Other Serving Opportunities
Serving at Westside
At Westside, we have incredible teams of people who serve on Sunday Ministry Teams—and various teams throughout the week—with the heart to make Jesus known and to serve each other through their gifts, time and talents. These teams are a great way to get involved, meet others within the church, and serve the body of Christ.
"As each has received a gift, use it to serve one another, as good stewards of God's varied grace: whoever speaks, as one who speaks oracles of God; whoever serves, as one who serves by the strength that God supplies—in order that in everything God may be glorified through Jesus Christ. To him belong glory and dominion forever and ever. Amen."
1 Peter 4:10-11
This group is only open to church members (to encourage privacy and trust) and is a place to receive prayer requests which are taken in and compiled by Westside staff, as well as post prayer requests for yourself or on behalf of others. If you would like to join this group, we ask that you commit to the following three commitments:
- I commit to praying through the corporate list of prayer requests weekly, posted every Tuesday afternoon by Westside staff (this post contains all prayer requests submitted on prayer cards, or to the Westside office directly).
- I commit to praying for all urgent prayer requests posted to this group as soon as able (these could be posted by any member of the group).
- I commit to intentionally praying for those in my life and seeking to be obedient in submitting requests for corporate prayer, both for myself and on behalf of others (these can be sent to firstname.lastname@example.org to be included on the weekly corporate list of prayer requests).
We often have a variety of things we need help with in the ministry that don't necessarily fit into one category. Examples of some of these things could be things like helping set up events we have throughout the year, going on shopping runs, helping with carpentry, crafting, helping with gift assembly, and the list goes on! This team needs people who are hard workers, servant-hearted, task and detail oriented, and don't mind working behind the scenes. All types of skills and abilities are needed!
This is not an exhaustive list by any means, but some examples of helpful skill sets for this team could include: executing tasks (two hands and a willing heart to serve), carpentry, fabrication, project management, experience organizing prizes/sponsorships, creating gifts/favours, detailed oriented, problem solving, etc.)
